COOKIES
Last updated: 23 August 2026
1 – Purpose
This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use on https://www.garconsjeunes.com, what they are for, and how you control them.
It supplements our Privacy Policy, which covers personal data more broadly.
2 – What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. It allows the site to recognise your browser, remember your choices, and measure how the site is used.
We also use technologies that work like cookies without being one — in particular Meta's Conversions API, which sends purchase data from Shopify's servers rather than from your browser. It is described in Article 5 below and is governed by the same consent as advertising cookies.
3 – Your choice
On your first visit, a banner lets you accept all cookies, refuse everything that is not essential, or choose category by category.
Refusing is exactly as easy as accepting: both buttons sit side by side, in the same form.
Nothing that requires your consent is placed before you have given it. If you refuse, we place only the cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to work.
You may change your mind at any time — see Article 6.
4 – The categories we use
Strictly necessary cookies — these make the site work and cannot be switched off. They keep your basket, secure your session, allow you to log in to your account, and carry your language choice. They do not require your consent.
Functional cookies — they remember your preferences, such as the language you selected, so you do not have to set them again.
Analytics cookies — they let us count visits and see which pages are read, so we can improve the site. They require your consent.
Advertising cookies — they measure the performance of our advertising and allow relevant ads to be shown to you on Facebook and Instagram. They require your consent.
5 – Third parties
Only three companies place cookies or receive data through the site:
- Shopify — operation of the online store, basket, customer account, security and audience measurement.
- Shopify Payments — securing payments and detecting fraud.
- Meta Platforms (Facebook, Instagram) — through the Meta Pixel on the site, and through Meta's Conversions API, which sends purchase data directly from Shopify's servers to Meta, including your email address and telephone number in hashed form. Both are triggered only if you have accepted advertising cookies.
We use no other advertising or analytics tool. We do not sell your data.
6 – Changing your mind
You may withdraw your consent at any time, and it is as simple as giving it:
- by opening Cookie preferences at the bottom of the menu — the panel reopens and you can change each category, or refuse everything
- by writing to contact@garconsjeunes.com, and we will act on your request
- by deleting the cookies stored by your browser, which brings the banner back on your next visit
- by configuring your browser to refuse cookies, block third-party cookies, or warn you before one is placed — the setting is in the privacy section of every browser
Refusing cookies never prevents you from browsing the site or placing an order.
7 – How long they last
Cookies are kept for 13 months at most, in line with CNIL recommendations. Beyond that period, your consent is requested again.
Data collected through those cookies is kept for 25 months at most, then deleted or anonymised.
8 – Your rights
Data collected through cookies is personal data. You have a right of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, exercisable at contact@garconsjeunes.com.
You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL — 3 place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, www.cnil.fr.
Full details are set out in our Privacy Policy.
9 – Changes
We may amend this policy to reflect legal or technical developments. The current version is always the one published here, with its date at the top of the page.
